Employment Outreach Program Manager - Creating Equity through Meaningful Careers!
with our incredible new partners at WorkSource ran a hugely successful career fair yesterday (7/17). We met with some of some of the most motivated potential WSF candidates we had ever met at an outreach event thus far. Whether was an aspiring welder, electrician, maritime professional, customer service professional, or administrative professional, we we happy to discuss some of the most substantial careers available in the greater Puget Sound here at Washington State ferries.
Christine Simpson of WorkSource North Seattle (pictured just above to the left), spearheaded the efforts to establish this career fair and we were especially impressed by her enthusiasm and flair for event planning. Without her pure desire to build this relationship and the will to bring gainful employment to the Seattle communities, this wouldn't have been half as successful as it was.
We also had the expertise of Captain Scott Freiboth (pictured above center), Master Electrician Buck Rayburn (pictured just above to the right), Training Program Lead Matt Lasley (pictured below to the right), Vessel Project Engineer Alex McEwen (not pictured) of whom made themselves available to represent WSF and conveyed their knowledge to captivated audience of motivated candidates.
Thank you WorkSource for being a instrumental part to the success of WSF in our mission to serve the great communities of the Puget Sound and beyond!
