Resolving Missing Signatures in MS Outlook Desktop App After Monthly Update

Some MS Outlook users are experiencing an issue where their signatures have disappeared or are missing entirely from the desktop app on their Microsoft 365 main account after a monthly build update.

However, these signatures are still visible in the “On This Device” section and on Outlook Web Access (OWA).

This issue is caused by Microsoft's roaming signatures feature. Here's how to resolve it:

Run the Registry Editor (RegEdit) with Administrative Privileges:

  • Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
  • If prompted by User Account Control, click Yes to allow.
  • Navigate to the Registry Path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Setup\

  • Create a New DWORD Value:

  • Right-click inside the right pane.
  • Select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
  • Enter DisableRoamingSignaturesTemporaryToggle and press Enter
  • Double-click the new value.
  • In the window that opens, enter 1 in the Value data field and click OK

  • Close the Registry Editor.
  • Restart Outlook for the changes to take effect.
