Recently I have found this thing while I was working on MBAM Deployment at client side where I experienced an issue that the key was not retrieving and when I was giving the Recovery Key 8 digits it was not giving me the Whole Recovery Key then I discovered the given solution May it will save your time
Create a New Registry item of Dword (32 bit) Value of “HWExemptionType”
Or You Can Make a group Policy for all the clients
Create a New group policy if you have not running any for the MBAM. If you have already MBAM group policy, you can do it in the same policy you don’t have to create a new one
Give it a name whatever you want to give it to
After Creating go to the policy and right click on it and Edit that newly created policy like I had the policy named “MBAM Polices”
After clicking on Edit this dialog box will be opened
Go to the Computer Configurations -> Windows Settings -> Registry -> New registry item
Go to the Self Service or Admin portal now you can fetch the key
NOTE :- After entering this new registry value you have to backup recovery key again by going into the Control Panel -> Bitlocker Encryption Option -> backup recovery Key
Then Go to the SQL Server -> Database -> MBAM Recovery Key -> Recovery Key and then match the new recovery key it will definitely match
