Resolved| An error occurred in Exchange Server while validating cluster computer name

Question

We are having the following error in our Exchange Server 2016 during validating cluster computer resource name.

“An error occurred while executing the test.

The operation has failed. An error occurred while checking the Active Directory organizational unit for the cluster name resource.

The parameter is incorrect”

Actually, the cluster name was earlier created successfully in the computer OU and the cluster was working properly like it was properly going offline and brought back online with no problem. We have verified that DNS entries are proper and correct and even cluster name ping to the correct IP. If we change the cluster name, it updates the cluster computer name in Active Directory without any issue or error.

Solution

This is a very common issue in the Exchange Server while creating the High Availability (Clustering). So according to me, the following point should resolve your issue because I got the same issue in some of my clients and resolved by this

You have to Add the “Authenticated Users” with Read Permission to the Computer OU. And now try again your issue will be resolved.
