Resistance Roundup 09/20: Celebrating Latinx Heritage Month! ??

Keep Faith

"It is essential to have organizations that give a helping hand to marginalized communities trying to enter politics. This ensures, among other things, media coverage, which increases their chances of raising funds." (Quote translated from the original French)

Ghida Dagher, CEO of New American Leaders, was recently interviewed by Radio Canada's Ximena Sampson and featured in the article "élections américaines : un Congrès encore trop blanc," or in English: "American Elections: A Congress Still Too White."

“In 2018, the Royal Spanish Academy rejected the use of -x and -e as gender-neutral alternatives to the collective masculine -o ending, in a style manual published together with the Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Espa?ola (ASALE). “ “Cultural Strategist Henry Cadena mentions in an article published by Manomagazine[62] that numbers are now showing that the term Latinx has evolved to be an offensive term and that some even call it a racial slur.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latinx - Wikipedia
