RESILIENCE AND SUCCESS
Resilience is the ability to move on the waves of life, no matter how strong they are, to always sail towards its success. It comes to magical fulfilment when you are strong enough to identify a goal and continuously move towards it, flexibly mastering all challenges.
Strength and adaptability are critical characteristics of resistant people, and it is the ability to return to its original shape after bending, stretching or upsetting. It is the ability to recover from illness, depression or adversity quickly. If you have not been strongly educated, then it is not too late because you can learn it. But don’t think it’s going to be easy, but that’s what it’s all about. Find a coach to help you, because if you’ve never learned to be strong and resilient, it will be an enormous challenge. Plan long-term because it is actually one of your life tasks.
Resilience is vital because life continually presents us with challenges, and we are responsible for what we make of it. In today’s world, we need to adapt and master the ever-changing challenges even faster. Our knowledge develops exponentially, and we need to learn how to use our brains even more efficiently. Resilience is a fundamental and extremely important characteristic of successful and exceptional people. It is the quality that determines whether someone can master difficult and challenging situations to achieve his goal. Resilience can be divided into two categories: mental and physical resilience. The good news is that you can train both parts if there are sufficient discipline and stamina.
Resilience means working efficiently on traumatic events, past and present, to learn from them and eventually neutralise them from having any effect on our future development. In short, it is about the ability to get up after falling down - shake the dust out of your clothes and move on. A Japanese proverb says it very well: “Fall down seven times and stand up eight times.” (Nana korobi, ya oki) Get up after each failure and continue your journey. The weak fall down and remain lying, but the strong stand up and keep going towards their goals. Throughout life, people endure all sorts of traumas, problems, difficulties and setbacks. Few have learned the ability to get out of the negative spiral and overcome obstacles, learn from them and continue their journey. Life is a path that is not straight and without obstacles. I believe that the more we learn to become more resistant, the more energy we have for the positive sides of life. We can only concentrate on one feeling in one moment, and if that moment is filled with negative emotions, then there is no room for positivity. As already discussed, we live in a world of polarity, and we experience both sides, the negative as well as the positive, but we can consciously decide what we want to think, feel and experience.
Successful people have different qualities, and one of the most important is to be more resilient than ordinary people. Outer strength comes from within and inside we direct the power with our thoughts. Resilient people have learned to be strong and can withstand confrontation and find solutions. Whether you grow up in unfavourable conditions or face other challenging situations, the more you face challenges and overcome setbacks and obstacles, the stronger and more resilient you become.
Over time, this quality becomes an essential character trait and is the drive to achieve one’s goals to make one’s life’s success. The more you want to accomplish in life, the more resilient you must become. Compare it to climbing a high mountain. At the foot of the hill you will still find all people, but the higher you climb, the less you will find. If you want to make your life a masterpiece, then you have to be keen to master all adversities to reach the top of your life.
Resilient employees are valued in companies because you can rely on them, and they do not give up on the smallest problems. Active and resilient employees do not come with problems to their superiors to complain, but they come with problems and solutions to determine the best way to solve critical situations. The strongest employees are the top performers in the company. Resilient people always do more and better because they refuse to give up, even if the situation is critical. When companies hire people, resilience is one of the essential character traits in the selection process. It is the ability that shows whether this person will actually prove to be powerful and successful. Resilient people go the extra mile and give the world strong values. Strong people know themselves very well and seek contact with other powerful people. Strong people form strong teams, and weak people form weak teams.
While most people let obstacles, setbacks and defeats take them away from their path; resilient people have the capacity to transform the negative into the positive. Analyse for yourself how they react to challenges and problems and do the same with their employees. What are the first thoughts shooting through your head? How quickly are you able to stand up and move on? What do you learn from each experience?
Resilience is an essential attribute that benefits the community because resilient people are fighters and thinkers and motivate others to achieve even better results. Few learn about their upbringing and others as adults at an early age, and this is where leadership coaching comes in again. If your company wants to build a powerful, strong, resilient and solution-oriented team, you need outside help.
Unfortunately, one must also say that some societies or leaders do not want strong and resistant humans because these are usually the most uncomfortable people. Weak and insecure leadership, whether on a national, corporate or family basis, destroys strength and resilience. As Nietzsche aptly said: “We need more strong people in this world because the weak by their sheer mass are forcing weak ideals and weak values on us.” Strong people take responsibility and always find a way to meet their goals. They look for strong and resistant people because only they can help them to improve their character traits. Think of the successful people, in your personal and professional environment. Most of them had to fight for their success, even if they had advantageous conditions. Life only gives us the tests that we are capable of passing. Every stage of life has its own tasks which we have to solve. The people who fail because of it do not progress anymore.
We all have the power of resistance in us, but not all use and develop it.
Resistant people are happier people because they achieve their goals, and that fills them with satisfaction and pride. Weak people are unhappy people, too often eaten away by envy and jealousy. These are the people who, for example, pass by a luxury car and would like to scratch it. The group of cowards are the enemies of strength and growth. What they can do is to cluster up like cocks and run at the slightest difficulty like greyhounds. One more word about cowards - these are the ones and their followers who torture and kill animals senselessly and for pleasure. Maybe they call themselves humans, but they belong to the human scum. Unfortunately, there are still so many places in the world where this happens. These countries and these people are neither civilised nor spiritually developed, and this reflects as well on their cultural and political system.
Real strength shows itself in harmonious cooperation because that is the way to reach common goals. Borders will always exist, but you can challenge your limits and is try and try again until you are successful. Basically, you are responsible for setting your boundaries. You will never know what you can achieve until you push yourself harder and further than you thought possible.
Defeats can be extremely frustrating and debilitating, but strong people recover faster and find their inner security and strength. Focus on your mistakes and weaknesses and transform them into opportunities and advantages. You will inevitably make mistakes on your path through life. You can let them pull you down and paralyse you and stay whining and suffering, or you can go on. The decision lies with you. By seeing mistakes as an opportunity and learning from them, you become more self-confident and resilient and know and feel that you will do better next time.
Your resistance only goes as far as your “why” goes. If you have a mission, then it is built on your “why”. The more you know why you want to do something, the more motivated and resilient you go about it. Believe in your dreams and see yourself as a winner and accept failures and inconveniences. Become a little stronger each time. Compare it with a muscle. After each training, it becomes a bit more resistant and stronger. Strength is an essential skill that you need to master to be successful in the long term. I have some suggestions for you on how to build resilience and grow beyond crises.
1. Build up your Mastermind team
Find people you can rely on because that is an essential part of strengthening your resilience and coping with difficult times. These people motivate you and give you the strength to rely on when it comes to more significant problems. When we surround these persons, we can share our feelings and worries without fear of being condemned or mocked.
An essential factor for resilience is having caring and supportive relationships inside and outside the family. High level of social support helps people to suffer less under stress and depression, and they are able to cope in stressful times. A high level of social support helps people to suffer less from emotional problems like depression, and they are better capable of dealing with stressful situations. Ask for help, and you will quickly see who you can and cannot rely on.
2. Simplify negative situations
As you see a stressful situation, it can either worsen or improve. Always ask yourself what can be the worst thing that can happen to you. So, allow your brain to think to evaluate the situation. Usually, most people exaggerate problems and difficult situations, and this can lead to overtaxing. Try to see the positive side of the events as soon as possible. If you simplify the situation and look at it positively, the stress level will decrease. This is what I call a positive transformation, and it changes our perception. If we start to focus on solutions instead of problems, we strengthen constructive development.
Negative stress paralyses and prevents a clear discussion of the situation. Use affirmations and meditation to become calm. With the perspective analysis, you start to see the given situation from different points of view to create an overall picture.
Your body reacts very quickly and very strongly to stress, and this has its purpose, but if your body only suffers from stress, it will respond to it, and you will suffer more and more until the bitter end.
This sense trick can actually change your physical responses to stress, as your body’s stress response is triggered by perceived stress. In other words, if you constantly feel that a crisis is looming, your body will react as if it were true, and your fight or flight reaction will begin.
Pay attention to how you think about things - do you tend to be optimistic or pessimistic when thinking about upcoming situations? Prevent yourself from slipping into overly negative thinking patterns. Instead of seeing severe conditions as insurmountable problems, try to see it as a challenge that you can overcome.
3. Become active
It’s not a mistake to fall down, but it’s a mistake not to get up. You don’t always have to take big steps, but rather take small, well-considered steps and keep going forward. If you are afraid that you do not know something, then learn it on the way to the goal.
Build strength by learning to act decisively and confidently in critical situations. Don’t wait for something to happen and take responsibility for you.
You can’t just wish your problems away or ignore them because that will make you feel helpless. Empower yourself and use the power of your determination to take control and control a negative situation.
4. Your Positive Mental Attitude
The way you think, feel and the way you approach a problem can make a big difference in your resilience. Maintaining a hopeful and optimistic attitude will help you to look beyond the problematic situation and focus on solutions. Pay attention to negative thought spirals in which you can get stuck. Control your thought patterns, and when you enter into an unwanted routine, then run your emergency program. Train positive and constructive routines to have you always ready for action. If you are thinking about the future, focus on how to do things better and find possible solutions to achieve this. Just replace negative thoughts with positive ones, and you will see how you change your condition.
5. Change is life
Most people try to avoid change because they are afraid of new experiences. Instead of welcoming the unknown with joy and positive expectation, they use avoidance mechanisms to face as little new situations as possible. Another meaningful way in which successful people build resilience is to accept that they are always confronted with change. Rely first on yourself and then on others. You have to control the changes and not the changes you. Prepare for change and learn how to adapt efficiently to new situations. Exceptional people see change as a necessary part of their lives to explore new ways and possibilities. Their life is a continuous change that they cannot stop. If you plan your life and pursue your goals, you will always act and react comparatively better to changes than the people who do not. Everyone should learn to deal with change to protect themselves and develop further. Always pay attention to your feelings and listen to what your mind wants to tell you. If you are not satisfied with these feelings, start changing them. Transform negative stress into positive stress or warmth. Make it a habit to focus on the positive side of the changes and transform the negative side.
6. Simplify the situation
In the beginning, everything always looks more complicated than it actually is. As with everything, our inner attitude is the key to all success. When you are confronted with a big problem, you first go at a distance and let a night pass until you get back to work. If you lead your brain and allow it to work, you will get better solutions.
Are you wondering whether your reaction really corresponds to the situation? Train certain situations to be prepared. Since you know yourself well, you know precisely what triggers specific actions and reactions in you. What are your weak points? If someone knows your weak points, they will attack them. During negotiations and difficult conversations, they always check what you feel and what it triggers in you.
Instead of always seeing the negative, remember what’s going on in your life. Isn’t that worth more than all the little difficulties? Always look at the best and worst that could happen. What could happen worst? Is the situation really as bad as it feels at first? Probably not. Take steps to fix the problem and continue, and if the problem is out of your control, start accepting it.
7. Build up your self-confidence
Get to know and appreciate yourself first, because that is the basis for your self-confidence. If you know exactly where your strengths and weaknesses lie, with all the development opportunities, then you form a solid foundation for life’s power. Trust is a powerful word, and it is tough to build and extremely easy to destroy. The majority of people do not trust themselves, and how can they trust others? Work actively on ways to build trust and confidence that you can deal with any situation. Convince your inner self with affirmations and actions, because that is the only way. With every success, your self-confidence grows a bit more, and this growth must be consolidated so that it cannot be destroyed again by a torpedo. Finding the way out of a difficult situation is never easy, but you have everything in you to make it happen! Find a little strength to help you grow and focus only on solving any adversity with a firm mental attitude.
Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you believe in yourself and that you can do it and finish successfully. Pay attention to your charisma. What kind of energy do you radiate? Stand upright in front of the mirror, breathe deeply and say like your favourite affirmation, for example: “I am strong, intelligent and find the right solution for all situations. I trust my almighty spirit because it gives me everything I need.” Remember that you have already mastered many critical situations and, although not all have gone well, you have learned something from each case. If you firmly believe in yourself and know deep inside that you can master any situation; it strengthens your resilience.
8. Experience magical moments
Even if everything seems to be collapsing, it is even more important to concentrate on the little pleasures. Be grateful for what you have and believe that it will get better. Put a smile on your face and steer the ship of life back on the course to success. Every storm passes once, and then the sun shines again. As long as you live, you have the chance to shape your life. When life gives you trials, then solve them with all you have at your disposal. The more intensively you live the moments, the more magical moments you will experience.
Strengthening resistance is not only about getting through the storm but also about finding the everyday pleasures that make life worth living. These everyday pleasures are the energy that feeds our strength and resistance. Make sure that your energy level is always maximum.
9. Self-knowledge
Develop the ability to ask yourself difficult and challenging questions and then answer them honestly. The negative self-lie is the biggest obstacle in your development. If you suffer a defeat, then accept it and find the reasons to learn from it. Remember, you are responsible for your life. The more you learn about yourself, the more exciting your life becomes. Some people believe that they know themselves, but that is a big mistake because they really don′t know themselves.
10. Lone fighter and team player
Prepare yourself to face any problems on your own, but it is even better to have a strong team at your side. Only strong leaders can form strong teams because they set the bar high, and the average people can’t get at it. Strong people challenge and encourage competition and development. They are courageous enough to face particular challenges and solve them.
11. Initiative is progress
When you are confronted with new situations, analyse them, plan scenarios and start working on them. This impulse is an initiative where most fail again. The action is to go courageously into unknown terrain and to follow a path you don’t know yet.
Look at the situation and use your creative intelligence to find the best solution. If you notice that you are not on the right track, be courageous enough to start again.
12. Try it with cosiness and humour
If you’ve fallen, feel the pain and start laughing in his face. That’s why you must keep your humour. Of course, you take yourself and your goals seriously, but sometimes you have to be able to laugh at yourself and certain situations. And as Balu, the Bear already said, “Look for the bare necessities. The simple bare necessities. Forget about your worries and your strife.”
Learn to breathe deeply and become calm because this is the only way to relax critical situations. Do it like the snipers - take a deep breath and pull the trigger.
Increase your resilience by looking for role models who have and do what you want and copy them. Learn from their mistakes, strengths, weaknesses and the opportunities they take.
But the most effective form is to unite with them and work together. If you really want to become an extraordinarily strong person, then you have to look for extraordinarily strong people and learn from them. If you want to be a full-fledged member of a special unit, then simply Scout knowledge is not enough. Challenge and support yourself daily to get where you want to be.
Imagine that you will lose all your material wealth today.
How would you react?
What would be your next steps?
How long would you be depressed and angry?
How resistant are you really?
What would be necessary for you to get up again and start all over again?
How will you handle new problems and defeats?
Can you learn from all your disappointments?
Are you willing to pay the price and start all over again?
First and foremost, it requires strong self-discipline and consistency. Focus on controlling and neutralising the negative internal conversations. Learn how to restore a positive and constructive emotional state with positive self-talk, the so-called affirmations. Learn to control your short-term and long-term fears. Replace negative routines with positive ones. Give yourself enough time to put what you have learned into practice and don’t let temporary setbacks get you off the course. Self-confidence is another essential value you need to strengthen. Believe in yourself and that you will make it. Work on your vision and see how you have already achieved everything you desire.
Sometimes I’m asked if it does any good and I answer that it definitely does not harm because if you focus your mind on your successes, then you can’t think anything negative. That’s what it’s about, fill your mind with positivity and negativity soon has little room left. Cultivating a resilient character, transforms failures into successes. A resilient person does not give up. Despite all obstacles and setbacks, a resistant person will remain true to his goals until he has achieved them.
Whatever you do to get back on your feet and follow the ethical rules. Simply put, if you want a lot of money, it wouldn’t be the right way to steal from someone else. For everything you want to achieve, you have to be willing to pay the price. Help others to become strong and resilient as well, and they will see how it helps them to become stronger. The more obstacles you overcome, the more often you correct your success course, the faster you will reach your goals. If you are resilient and strong, there is nothing that can hold you back.
We need to help young people and show them how to improve their mental and physical resilience to protect a healthy community. The effeminacy of values destroys every high culture and is the enemy of a strong society. It is time to rebuild a valuable culture. Ethically strong and resilient people have strong and healthy values and a duty to teach them to others.
Many parents wonder how they can raise strong and resilient children. The first question is how resilient and strong they are themselves. Are they a unit or two parties? As I said before, you can only give what you really have. Parents must be able to face confrontations and must communicate values clearly and understandably. Parents must challenge and support their children and be strong enough to withstand confrontation. When parents are afraid to deal with their children’s emotions and bow to “quick and easy solutions” to keep their child calm, they do harm, usually beyond repair. Young people become more resilient when adults believe in them and support them firmly in growing up to be responsible people. Responsible parents set their children wide limits and support them in planning and walking their way.
I believe that strong resilience, analytical and strategic thinking and the power of action are the most important qualities of successful people. Believe in yourself and feel exceptional because you usually have everything you need to achieve your goals. Always be hungry for more, because if you rest, you rust. Rejoice in your successes and celebrate them. Listen more to your gut feeling and mix it with your rational thinking. First, you have the feeling and if you think it’s okay, try it. Learn to deal better with your feelings and control them through your conscious thoughts. Your success in life depends on how well you learn and execute the laws of success.
