Generating revenue ain’t easy. Leading revenue generating teams is even harder. And if you’re leading teams and responsible for generating your own revenue at the same time, well you’re a fricken God!We’re all in this together.
So every 2nd Wednesday I will sprinkle some resilience in your life, which you can use for yourself and/or pass on to your teams to spur their sales journey onwards and upwards towards exceeding targets.
Why Wednesday? Well, Monday and Tuesday could’ve been sh*t and some resilience might help you turn that around. Or Monday and Tuesday might have been exceptional and I’ll be here to remind you, you have 3 days left, stay resilient/level headed and keep fkn going! If you’re resilient enough, or think this is just a bunch of bollocks (I’m in recruitment and have lots of friends from the UK, I love that word!) feel free to unsubscribe below.
OK, let’s get started…
Recognising A High Performance Mindset
A common frame of mind I often hear high performers operate in is the absolute truth of recognising you will not come out of this alive. The universe is infinite, Earth is a tiny atom compared to how big everything is, humans have been around for 3.5 seconds (in a 24 hour clock) compared to how long the Earth has been around and ultimately, in 100 years none of us living right now will be here. You and everything you’ve done will be forgotten!
So relax, don’t take things too seriously, enjoy and just go for it! This frame of mind actually makes me more resilient. Now, as a sales/business leader, wouldn’t it make your life easier if you had a bunch of resilient, high performance mindset individuals who get after it?
Of course it would!

I’ve boiled high performance down to a science, here it is…Along with resilience, other attributes to look for are competitive nature, discipline, intrinsic motivation, work ethic, drive, coachability and GRIT!
If you’re ever looking to hire people like this, don’t take their word for it. Use internationally proven/studied psychometric tests which find hard evidence for soft skills.
Let me known if you want recommendations. However, when it comes to a true high performer, it doesn’t just stop at those skills, you need these too:
My CHEC-list Communication skills, Humble Confidence, Emotional Intelligence and Commercial Awareness.
When you couple an alite athlete mindset (high performance attributes above) with a high score on the CHEC-list, you will get high achieving revenue generators! Watch my explainer video for more details.
