Resilience

I walked away with nothing!

After two failed marriages. I chose both both I had to take responsibility

I found myself on the street.

I’d been working as a teacher for many years and was at the height of my career.

I’d made a decision to walk out of an alcoholic marriage and all that goes with the lies and mistrust within that relationship.The fear of violence and all that goes with those fears.

At this point it was leave or get sick.

I’d been suppressing myself for many years to tolerate what was happening.

Now I am no angel either and had my part in this too.

I walked out of my beautiful home without a stick of furniture and started again.

It was scarey. I spent three days in bed fighting this paradigm of feeling like a failure.

Another failed marriage what would people think.

I did get alot of questions for sure!

I’m not unique and I know many people have faced this too. But many have also stayed because of the fear of judgement from others. That has a cost too on your self identity and suppression of self and who you would love to be. It’s the loss of the vision you had for you life when the dreams lay tattered on the floor.

Here’s some tips that may help you to develop resilience whether it’s the loss of a marriage, a relationship a business or any perceived failure.

  • 1.Accept the situation: Acceptance is the first step towards healing and moving forward. It's important to acknowledge what has happened and understand that it's okay to feel a range of emotions, including sadness, anger, and fear.
  • Focus on what you can control: While there are many things outside of your control, focus on the aspects of your life that you can control. This might include your attitude, your actions, and the choices you make moving forward.
  • 2.Develop a support network: Surround yourself with supportive friends, family members, or professionals who can offer encouragement, advice, and assistance during this challenging time. Don't hesitate to lean on others for help when you need it.
  • 3.Practice self-care: Take care of yourself both physically and emotionally. This might involve getting enough sleep, eating nutritious foods, exercising regularly, practicing relaxation techniques such as meditation or deep breathing, and engaging in activities that bring you joy.
  • 4.Create a new Vision for your life. This is so important that you can see yourself with a beautiful vision for your life and that you spend time here daily. Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, and don't be too hard on yourself if things don't always go according to plan.
  • 5. Develop a positive mindset: Cultivate a positive outlook on life by focusing on gratitude, finding silver linings in difficult situations, and challenging negative thought patterns. Remember that setbacks are a natural part of life, and they often provide opportunities for growth and learning.
  • 6. Seek opportunities for learning and growth: Use this experience as an opportunity to learn more about yourself, your strengths, and your values.?
