The first week of #July brought some interesting insights into the world of #businessaviation. Here's a snapshot of what's been happening.
While summer season business jet (bizjet) traffic is slightly down from
last year's record activity, it remains 15% up on 2019 levels globally. This
trend is echoed in the United States, where July Fourth holidays affected last
week's bizjet demand, confirming a roughly 5% deficit compared to last year.
Despite fewer transatlantic trips in early July, these are still up 20% from
pre-COVID times.
Interestingly, European trends present a mixed picture. Central Europe has
dipped below 2019 levels, while holiday hotspots continue to see record
arrivals of bizjets.
Year-to-date, bizjet activity is 5% down on 2022, but notably, 19% ahead
of 2019. This, combined with the fact that we've seen a 7% rebound in scheduled
airline activity compared to last year, gives us an optimistic view of the
sector's resilience.
Focusing on the North American market, New York remains the city with the
most business jet departures, despite a 11% drop compared to July 2022. On a

positive note, Teterboro to Biggin Hill departures have seen a 26% surge
compared to the same period last year, highlighting the fluctuating demand on
transatlantic routes.
In Europe, bizjet activity has started July 10% behind last year, although
it is 10% ahead of 2019. Germany, a key market, saw activity dip 6% behind
2019.
Meanwhile, business jet departures outside Europe and North America are
enjoying an impressive 14% growth compared to last year, and a massive 74%
growth compared to 2019. These figures are indicative of the industry's
robustness and adaptability.
As we dive deeper into July, it's clear that business aviation continues
to navigate the turbulence of global events with agility. Here at Skyllence , we
remain committed to providing top-tier air charter broker services, constantly
adapting to the evolving market dynamics.
Stay tuned for more updates. Fly high and stay safe!
