If you are currently apart of the network marketing industry / ever been approached to get involved with a specific company, what’s among the first attractions to joining ?
Some say ‘extra money’ some say ‘community’ some say ‘time freedom’ ...
But the biggest attraction to network marketing for most in the RESIDUAL INCOME that it can supposedly offer.
Because most don’t want an extra job really and sometimes network marketing can feel like that if you are consistently having to sell to new customers to make up for the ones who are quitting using your products.
And that unfortunately is what happens. For 60 years the statistic of which I’m about to share with you hasn’t changed...
‘THE AVERAGE CUSTOMER STAYS ON YOUR PRODUCT FOR 79 DAYS’.
So how is Network Marketing providing a REAL solid residual income of which they offer you at the start.
Most top leaders, especially in product based MLMs make there residual from business builders ordering the products because they have to as a monthly requirement not because they necessarily want to.
My personal story:
I’ve been in the industry for 7 years, and was a top income earner in two product based companies in my country and globally for my age. These two companies are globally renowned in the profession - I earned well, but my residual wasn’t too great in both and it actually felt more like a job then it did a business.
I really liked the products in both my companies, but in all honesty, do I use them now ? NO.
That might seem abit fake, because I was raving about the products in both companies when I was involved - but when I left I weren’t thinking as a business partner to the company anymore, I was thinking like a consumer, and most consumers aren’t loyal to one brand, they like to experience different things.
And the problem for network marketing right now is that people can go amazon and practically buy the same product that your are offering in your company at half the price shipped same day for free.
So no matter how good your companies skin care product is or how good the weight loss shake taste, a customer will always be in a consumer mentally in trying different things, unless they become a distributor for the brand and have financial interest to stick with the product.
So if you are part of a product based MLM now, this isn’t to disrespect what you are doing because I know you’ll be passionate about your product as I was, but take a look at your back office report and look at how many customers have a ‘0 BV’ next to there name.
This is the problem. And it’s not your fault. Its not even your companies fault - it’s just the way it is. Don’t get dishearten - it’s just the numbers and it won’t change anytime soon.
Fortunately for me I have now found a company where we are offering a more true residual and we are actually saving people money on something they are already going to buy anyway. So when they save the money - why would they go anywhere else ?
Customers are always in a ‘cost cutting’ mode. And we offer a state of the art service at a better price than what our competitors can offer and that’s why our customers will stick with us !
