Residential Development Proposed for Bulimba

Last updated: 04/08/24 I Brisbane Development

Shayher Group has submitted a development application for a new residential project on Apollo Road in Bulimba. This plan includes the construction of 69 apartments and is strategically located next to the recently proposed retail marketplace shed, also under review by council.

Designed by Buchan, the Apollo Road Apartments project plans to build two and three-story residential buildings with underground parking, alongside the historic Fabrication Shed, which will be refurbished as part of the Bulimba Barracks master plan. The development aims to integrate with the surrounding area, enhancing community connectivity and reflecting the site’s historical character.

This design aims to provide a balance between urban density and a human-scale living environment, enhancing the overall neighbourhood’s character and represents the first residential stage of the approved 14 stage master planned village community.

According to the development application, each residence is provided with premium private outdoor space, including balconies and ground-level courtyards enhanced with vibrant subtropical greenery. These spaces are meticulously crafted to enhance the quality of life for residents, promoting an inviting environment for outdoor subtropical living.

Under the Preliminary Approval master plan, a private 10-meter-wide north-south road was approved to provide access to the forthcoming residential and retail precinct in Lot A1. This application seeks to transform the private road into a shared pedestrian laneway and cross-block link arrangement.

The shared laneway and cross block connection will enhance pedestrian pathways between Riverside Park and the historical retail and residential uses.
