Reset Android Phones
In the past, you can perform a factory reset and wipe off your login pin simply by powering up your Android phone while holding on to both power and down buttons at the same time.
However, Google introduced the Factory Reset Protection (FRP) in Android OS Version 5.1 (Lollipop) onward, preventing the pin login from getting reset together with the factory reset.
I asked ChatGPT for suggestion and this is what it gives me:
Unfortunately my friend has removed his google account from the phone, so using the previous Google account on the phone will not work. The Android phone will simply generate Something went wrong error, and ask you to login into your google account again and generate Something went wrong error again despite the login is correct!
3rd party FRP bypass tools work. But you have to pay for the app just for one time use. And there is no certainty that such hacking tools will be malware free. One of the more recommended method is to use the free FRP Bypass APK: https://www.malavida.com/en/soft/frp-bypass/android/download

A detailed instruction can be found here, so I will not repeat it here, It requires more steps, but at least it's free: https://toolbox.iskysoft.com/iphone-tips/oneplus-nord-frp-bypass.html
Another method is to bypass the locked screen thru the emergency call option. For OnePlus phone, simply go to the Emergency Rescue option from the Emergency Call option. Click Add Contact and click Deny.
Doing this allows you to bypass the setup screen and get into the permission tab under the settings. And there is a search option in this screen where you can type Settings in the search field to jump into other setting menus, where you can disable Android Setup and Google Play Service, so that the setup sequence can be bypass and let you go straight into the homepage!
