Reserves Day 2022 with Allan Fairhurst
I am Allan Fairhurst, I joined the Army on January 5th 2012 as a Supply Specialist.?
After 8 months of training, I flew straight to the Falklands for 6 months maintaining special purpose operational stores which required us to be ready to move within 48hrs. From there, I went into pre-deployment training for OP Herrick 19 in Afghanistan which included Pretorian (public order training for the prison).?
My role was primarily conducting interrogations of LOGIS databases, accounting and provisioning stores for multiple dependencies and coordinating Camp Bastion (an area the size of Peterborough) to return to the UK. I left the Regulars on 10th October 2016 and directly transferred into the Reserves where I continued delivering Logistics Supply training and basic soldiering to new and current reservists. I’m currently serving with the 156 Regiment RLC Reserves. Here at Zzoomm, I work as a Lead Build Assurance Engineer, helping build the Full Fibre network of the future.
