Reserve Your Sanity

Reserve Your Sanity

My life has become a merry-go-round that just continues to go around and around, unlike being at an amusement park where I should be having fun and there's an operator standing by to let me off the ride.

Getting off the ride became a life-or-death matter for me after returning home from my doctor's office after 4 hours because my blood pressure was extremely high, and he refused to let me leave his care until either my pressure went down, or he called an ambulance to take me to the hospital. As I put my key in the door, I could hear my telephone ringing and when I answered it had been someone with a bag of problems and shortly after hanging up, another call came in from someone wanting to launch a business. I referred them to a few places that could help, and they asked why I can't do it. “Because I don't want to work with you” was my answer and hung-up, and they called about 5 more times until I unplugged my phone.

I found myself in bed at 3:00 in the afternoon and I allowed myself the much-needed rest my brains and body craved. 6-hours later I forced myself out of bed, I showered, ate, and called my phone carriers and changed my home and my mobile number. I booked a little get away to stay at a beach house where I plan to work on completing my new book, revamp my marketing strategies, create my visionary team of those I will be seeking to hire and just take care of me.

Some may see my vacation as running, but I am not. I am simply removing myself from all the pollution of toxicity (drug slingers and smokers up the road, loud music playing in my complex, women walking around half naked and the daily shootings). In life it is important to step back so you can see the full picture, practice self-care like eating good, looking good, putting a little swag in your walk as you see yourself on top of the world, the places that you most desire to be in your life and/or your business.

As I write this post today, I am feeling good, neither of my phones have rung "hurray" and now that I have figured out how to get myself off that merry-go-round, I plan to do everything humanly possible NOT to get back on it. I am sure to anger some folks but hey if I died tomorrow, guess what? they would find someone else to leach from, dump their problems on or call and I am simply helping them out and they can all find someone else to play selective deafness with.

A message to all my wonderful readers: I am not asking you to be selfish ~ I only ask that you take care of you, those that do not add value to what you have happening in your life, do not allow them in your life and if they are in it and you find it to be too much get rid of them.

For those that are in business ~ put your energy there, keep your eyes on the prize of why you opened your business, who you want to impact and what are the most important steps you must take to get yourself off the merry-go-round ride. Let go and be free to do and be you.
