Resentment is like poison - Let it go!

Hello, Happy Monday!

You Can Do it!

Monday morning reminds us how important it is to choose a job you love. A positive thought in the morning changes your entire day.

Quote for the week

“Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness, but because you deserve peace.” – Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Resentment is like poison

Why one should let go of grudges and resentments?

Resentments can be caused by a variety of factors, including feelings of injustice, unfulfilled expectations, or a perceived lack of recognition or support. Resentments can develop when individuals feel that they have been treated unfairly, or when they believe that they have not received the credit or rewards that they feel they deserve.

Let’s face it. We have all harbored resentments - A boss or a manager ticks you off, an employee makes you angry, or a friend or family member upsets you. Holding a grudge and harboring resentment is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die. In business or personal life, grudges, and resentments do not benefit anyone.

Sadly, many grudges are simply misunderstandings that people didn’t talk through. It goes like this – one person assumes something about the other person and convinces themselves that it’s the truth. Then they brood over it, pass judgments, and start wallowing in a pool of resentment. As time goes by, the bitterness and anger engulf them and drive them crazy. Just a mere misunderstanding creates a cascade of events leading to misery and even depression at times.

So first and foremost, we should stop ourselves from jumping to conclusions and we shouldn’t let misunderstandings become false facts we pass judgment on.

Grudge-holders expend a significant amount of mental and emotional energy to support a grudge. A person who cannot let go of issues end up in the vicious cycle of “anger-resentment-anger.” The only way to break the vicious cycle is to forgive the person who wronged you and let it go. Keep in mind that forgiving and letting go doesn’t require you to continue associating with the person who wronged you.

Whether the person remains a part of your life or not, what does remain is the fact that forgiving and letting go of any grudges will bring you the peace you need to move forward with your own life in a?positive?way.

We never win by holding a grudge. All we end up doing is allowing the person who wronged us to fill our headspace with negativity.

Letting go of grudges and resentment is a process that takes time and effort. It requires courage, empathy, and self-awareness. But with patience and perseverance, you can release the negative feelings and move towards forgiveness and emotional healing. Remember that forgiveness is a gift that you give to yourself, and it's a powerful step towards a more fulfilling and peaceful life.

Have an amazing week ahead!

Cheers!

Very true. Grudging and nurturing resentment serves no purpose and it does more harm to self than any good to anyone. Just forget and move on cos moving on is peace and happiness and that is quality life.
