Researching the role of leaders and followers in Firm Absorptive Capacity
In a survey being conducted by a Group of UCD Smurfit business school MBA students, a model of leadership is being developed which tries to recognise the leader has a distinct role in contributing to the firms absorptive capacity.
‘Absorptive capacity is typically defined as the ability of an organization to recognize the value of new information, assimilate it with existing knowledge and apply it to create new capabilities’ (Cohen & Levinthal, 1990).
Whilst there has been much research on organizational absorptive capacity and to a lesser degree the individuals absorptive capacity, there is very little research into how the leader:follower relationship is complementary in establishing this source of a firm's resource-based competitive advantage.
Please take 5 mins to complete this survey to contribute to the research
