Hall and colleagues at Michigan state uncovered a potential association between cadmium exposure and endometriosis.
What is cadmium? Cadmium is a natural element in the earth's crust. It is usually found as a mineral combines with other elements such as oxygen, chlorine, or sulfur. People are exposed to cadmium through their diet and higher amounts by breathing in cigarette smoke.
The exact cause of endometriosis remains unknown so, findings like this are important to highlight.
