Launch of Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for People Living with Dementia Report ?

The ASI attended the launch of the report “Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) for People with Dementia: An evaluation of facilitators and barriers to intervention delivery in Ireland” at the National College of Ireland . This research was funded by the Irish Research Council's New Foundations scheme and undertaken by Dr Caoimhe Hannigan and Dr Michelle E. Kelly (D.Psych) , in collaboration with The Alzheimer Society of Ireland. The ASI further supported this project in facilitating the successful recruitment of participants affected by dementia through our TeamUp for Dementia Research service.??

New Publication: Navigating the future of Alzheimer's care in Ireland?

A new publication exploring the future of Alzheimer’s care in Ireland was published in early June, led by Prof iracema Leroi from Trinity College Dublin . Many experts from the field contributed to this timely piece of work, including The Alzheimer Society of Ireland's Research & Policy Manager Dr Laura O'Philbin Ph.D . It is critical that we understand the impact of new disease modifying therapies for people living with dementia on our healthcare systems in Ireland.?

TeamUp for Dementia Research Turns 3!??

The TeamUp for Dementia Research service will shortly celebrate its 3rd birthday. In the first six months of the year, TeamUp Members have been offered a huge variety of research projects; from remote focus groups and one-to-one interviews to in-person cognitive stimulation therapy and lab-based research opportunities. Many thanks to all of the TeamUp Members whose commitment to improving dementia research in Ireland has helped the service to grow at an unprecedented rate.??

The TeamUp for Dementia Research service is temporarily at capacity. We are now operating a waiting list for potential new members.??
