Research Scientists-Biokinetics

Our Client has openings for two Research Scientists with at least two years of laboratory experience, preferably holding an MSc in a Biological Science. Ideal candidates will have experience with insects, microbiology, and/or plant science.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent personal management skills, including following scientific plans, meeting project timelines, and adhering to HSE standards. Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate across various disciplines.

Opportunity Summary: The Bio performance group within the Bioscience function in Crop Protection is seeking Research Scientists to study the ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Elimination) behaviour of active ingredients (AIs) in target and non-target species. This research is critical to understanding selectivity, resistance, and field performance.

Core Tasks:

• Provide scientific and technical support for studying the bioavailability of novel agrochemicals through in vivo studies (insect, plant, plant pathogens) and/or in vitro assays using recombinant enzymes.
• Execute operational priorities in collaboration with the Science Leader.
• Analyse data and present conclusions through detailed reports and presentations.
• Implement HSE actions to ensure compliance with defined standards.

Additional Tasks:

• Maintain plant cell cultures.
• Review and improve protocols to enhance capability and efficiency.
• Transfer knowledge and build new capabilities to enhance existing toolkits.

Qualifications:

• Essential: BSc or MSc (preferred) in Entomology, Biochemistry, Insecticide ADME/Invertebrate Toxicology, Microbiology, or Plant Science.
• Essential: At least two years of laboratory-based experience in a relevant professional or academic setting.
• Essential: Proficient in scientific writing (fluent in English), verbal communication, and organizational skills.
• Essential: Willingness to work with insects.
• Desirable: Professional experience in Pharmacology, Agronomy, Crop Protection, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Entomology.
• Desirable: Experience with large data sets – data storage, reporting analysis, and visualization tools.
• Desirable: Experience in the study of ADME of active ingredients.
• Desirable: Experience analysing small molecules using LCMS.
