RESEARCH NEWS: Functional medicine health coaching improves health outcomes, exercise lowers heart risk in women, senolytic drugs for DNA methylation

Functional medicine to reclaim health, prevent disease and extend healthspan.
We are so thrilled to see some studies coming out to support the efficacy of what we have been doing day in and day out for a decade. Health coaching combined with functional medicine improves outcomes, in this case in doing an elimination diet, but realistically it applies everywhere. Knowledge + Action = Impact. Health coaching helps humans take effective action. We know it works; now the world is starting to catch on, wahoo!
A lot of the research in the medical world has traditionally been done with men. There is some sense to it, being that men have less biological variability, and thus it is easier. The mistake is in knowing that the genders are different when conducting the research, but assuming the the results can be generalised. Sometimes they can, sometimes they can’t, and we won’t know until we start doing gender-controlled research.?
Physical activity is important, and reduces death from all causes, on this almost everyone would agree. It looks as though physical activity has a greater impact in this regard for women than men. I would not have guessed this, and am glad to know it.?

Functional medicine health coaching improves diet compliance and health outcomes
Functional medicine health coaching significantly enhances adherence to elimination diets and improves self-reported health outcomes, as demonstrated in a randomised controlled trial.?
Exercise reduces heart risk: Gender matters
Physical activity significantly lowers the risk of death from all causes and cardiovascular diseases, with women experiencing greater benefits than men, underscoring its importance for longevity, especially in women.?
Slowing ageing with senolytics
Senolytic drugs dasatinib, quercetin, and fisetin may influence longevity and age-related decline by affecting DNA methylation clocks.
CST–polymerase crucial for the complete replication of telomeres
The CST–polymerase α-primase complex plays a key role in cellular ageing and longevity by ensuring the complete replication of chromosome ends, offering potential insights for ageing-related therapies.?
