Rescript your Inner Dialogue

The morning alarm goes off! Your hands reach out for your phone to turn it off. But you don’t stop there. By default (thanks to ‘automaticity’!) your fingers scroll to catch those notifications. In a few blinks, you land on your social media newsfeed. You see an update on a colleague’s big career move. Or you see a friend posting pictures of having fun with her family.?

For the rest of the day, you gravitate towards thinking “Why don’t I enjoy that kind of happiness?” or “Looks like I am not good enough”. Even tiny moments of failure aggravate the belief of “I will never be able to get this right!”. To top this, the world outside is constantly trying to dictate who you are and who you should be. How often do you find yourself torn between being independent and asking for help? Between hustling and slowing down? Do you feel divided between choosing yourself and being there for another person? We yearn for answers to these questions everyday. This story of 'Who am I and what do I want' is what each of us is trying to figure out everyday. The good news is you are not alone.

Who decides what the answers are?
Your thoughts and beliefs. They shape you. Your emotions have a strong influence on your behaviour. Who you think you are is more likely to determine how your life plays out for you.?

So, what determines your choice??

If you observe, we have about thousands of these micro-conversations with ourselves everyday in our heads. Every choice, move, or reaction you make, springs from this story that is running in your mind.

Are these conversations 'healthy'? How do we ensure that they are? Well, the path is to know yourself better and rescript your own story.

But how? Let's explore some answers we got from people we spoke to.

“I can find a lot of guidance online already!”. Okay, we hear you say that. We kind of agree with you! There is no dearth for information today. But would you deny it if we said it comes at a risk? Their fragmented nature (and sometimes unverified nature) means it takes a long time for you to process information from different sources, influencers and channels, build your own blueprint and finally be ready to apply that in your life.?

“Well, I can reach out to my friends when I am low!”. Of course, we all need and have go-to friends who crack open problems for us, and support us in times of distress. Who would we be without them, right? However, haven't you also had moments when you wished you didn't have to bother that ‘bestie’ for every single thing??

“Okay, I am not saintly or zen, and I definitely don’t want to be seen as spiritual”.

At some level we have been told that we need to be spiritual to access that pot of gold of awareness. But at Anyo, we believe it need not always be so. Each one of us can access that on an everyday basis, as legit humans. To connect with our core, offer compassion and a listening ear to our own present narrative, acknowledge and empathise with it, and spin a new powerful story about yourself - this is the path we want to help you carve for yourself.

Won’t focussing on myself so much make me selfish and self-centred? True to say, this battle of connect versus disconnect is becoming real. Self-love is definitely not selfish but does it have the risk of taking us away from an ecosystem that wants to be there for us? The harsh reality of this is what might be hitting us today. We see people disconnecting from genuine support systems and moving into an isolated space. We also run the risk of not knowing how to be that support system for those around us. Are we missing the point that connecting with ourselves need not come at the cost of losing the connections around us?

How do we tune our inner compass with a healthy balance of connecting with ourselves and our external world??

The starting point could be the story that is running in your head right now about yourself. The story of ‘Who am I?’. When you work on making this story strong, powerful and firm, you unlock the resilience that exists within you to handle all situations at home, work and with yourself.

Okay, let’s take a moment here to pause. Take a long deep breath - Inhale with us…for 1….2….3…. Now exhale….1….2….3…. This is the most important part of it all!

The question - what does wellness have to do with ‘my story’?

How ‘well’ you keep yourself on the physical, mental and emotional level has a significant impact on how you rescript your story.?

Let us break this down for you a little bit. The way you stay aware of your energy levels, the way you understand your emotions, reactions and responses, the coping skills you learn, the way you build habits and routines, the time you take to reflect on yourself - all of these are micro-conversations you have with yourself everyday.?

To be at your zenith at all times, at all situations has been your quest. Isn’t it? But we understand that moving from 'I am not good enough' to 'I can create the life I want for myself' is a journey of miles to walk. It doesn't happen overnight and all days won't be the same. The sea can get rough often. We want to see you surf the waves of life confidently from the top. And we definitely wouldn't want you to be alone on this journey. Here we are, at Anyo, to be there for you you as you become an alchemist of your own story.

Get ready ,let's talk YOU!

With love,?
