The Purpose of Repurposing Your Content on LinkedIn

Continually coming up with fresh ideas for your own social content can be difficult.

A bit like writers block.

Sometimes it's draining.

And it's harder still if you're one of the many people who doesn't have confidence in their own content.

But instead of always looking for a fresh idea, how about you re-fresh an idea.

Don't stress! Repurpose!

Repurposing your content is a great way to get more mileage out of your hard work. By taking your existing content and reformatting it for different platforms and audiences, you can reach more people and grow your brand.

So what are the benefits of repurposing content on LinkedIn?

  • You can save yourself time and effort. Instead of starting from scratch with every new piece of content, you can reuse what you've already created. This frees up your time so you can focus on other things, like creating new content or growing your business.
  • It could help you reach a wider audience. By repurposing your content for different platforms, you can reach people who might not have seen it otherwise. For example, you could turn a blog post into a video for YouTube, or your poll results into an infographic.
  • Sharing valuable content on a more regular basis, even in a different format, can help you build relationships with your audience. This can lead to more engagement, more leads, and more sales.

Why repurpose?

First, let's think about all the different types of content you can use on LinkedIn:

  • Articles / newsletters
  • Photos
  • Infographics
  • Videos
  • Audio
  • Carousels or presentations
  • Polls

And then consider what type of content your audience (not you!!!!) prefers to consume.

Some prefer video. Some love to just read. Others like to see information visually, like an infographic.

And it's these preferences which should guide you in the content formats you use.

How do I repurpose?

As an example, you could start with a question. Maybe one which your target audience would ask or one about the pain-points they experience.

And make it into a poll, with four options.

The results of your poll could help you build an infographic image.

Then consider talking about these results in a video, where you have the opportunity to be a thought leader, giving your opinions, insights and advice.

Why does it have to be complicated? It doesn't. It's not.

No matter what type of content you choose to create, make sure it's high-quality and relevant to your audience. This will help you get the most out of your repurposing efforts.


Here are some tips for repurposing your content on LinkedIn:

  • Choose the right content to repurpose. Not all content is created equal. When you're choosing content to repurpose, look for pieces that may be evergreen or still holding relevance, and that have broad appeal.
  • Reformat your content for different platforms and not just LinkedIn. When you're reformatting your content, make sure it's optimised for the platform you're using. For example, if you're turning a blog post into a video, make sure the video is the right length and that it has a strong call to action.
  • Promote your repurposed content through other media platforms. Once you've repurposed your content, share it on other social media channels, email it to subscribers, and add it to your website.

Repurposing your content is a great way to get more out of your hard work and by following these tips, you can reach more people, build relationships with your audience, and grow your brand.
