Dear MoveOn member,
Twenty-four million. That's how many more uninsured Americans there would be in 10 years under the Republican plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace it with Trumpcare, according to a report just released by the independent Congressional Budget Office.1
Opposition to this cruel and destructive bill crosses the political spectrum. Nonpartisan groups such as the AARP, the American Cancer Society, and many other medical professional [e.g.AHA, AMA, APA] and Civic associations oppose this repeal plan. That may be why House Speaker Paul Ryan is trying to rush it through Congress. But we can stop Trump and the Republicans if we help make sure everyone we know understands the real costs of Trumpcare.
MoveOn members in key states and congressional districts are organizing Congressional Stakeouts to Save Health Care—daylong vigils outside of Senate and House offices this Thursday and Friday. One thing all of us can do is to build a national outcry online! Can you watch and share this one-minute video that can convince even your less political friends and family that the Republican plan is bad news?
Not on Facebook? You can watch and share it on YouTube by clicking here.[Please check the Video. VM]
And you can also forward this email to friends in Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Maine, Nevada, Ohio, West Virginia, Louisiana, and Colorado—where the Republican senators have expressed concerns about repeal—and ask them to join actions on Thursday and Friday and to call their senators every day.
Republicans are hell-bent on ramming Trumpcare through Congress, but here's how we can stop them.
1. Convincing vulnerable House Republicans to vote no. Twenty-three House Republicans in districts Trump lost to Clinton could be especially sensitive to the outrage of their constituents and realize ripping health care from tens of millions of Americans would have political consequences. One Republican, Rep. Rob Wittman of Virginia, just announced his opposition to the plan.2 If more Republican representatives side with Democrats, we could have enough votes to prevent Trumpcare from passing the House.
2. Convincing Republican senators to stop the repeal. The Senate may be our best chance to stop this. There are nine Republican senators who could be persuaded to save health care—and, assuming all Democratic senators hold the line, all we need are three Republican senators to stop Trumpcare in its tracks.
Let's make sure everyone knows how toxic this plan is as we support the Congressional Stakeouts to Save Health Care this Thursday and Friday. Please forward, share, post, tweet this video. The health care of 24 million Americans may rely on what we do over the next 16 days.
Thanks for all you do.

P.S. Here is information about the actions around the country. See if there's one near you, or tell your friends in key states to check it out.
P.P.S. You can always call your own senators by calling 1-844-319-5882 or members of the House of Representatives by calling 1-202-224-3121. Tell Democrats to stand firm and united against this plan. Tell Republicans not to take health care away from tens of millions of Americans.
