Representation for Detention Matters!

I recently came across a troubling situation where GST Enforcement Officers are reportedly opening B2B/B2C/C2C parcels carried by transport companies, assessing the value of the contents, and imposing a 200% penalty accordingly.

This doesn’t seem to be an isolated incident but rather a widespread practice involving multiple officials.I would like to know under which law — GST or any other regulation — such officers are authorized to inspect parcels in this manner.
