Neil Gibbins highlights some critical safety issues raised in recent CROSS reports.
Earlier this year, F&RM published information about CROSS – Collaborative Reporting for Safer Structures, explaining how the process works. CROSS has now received, processed, and published a number of fire-related reports, indicating that the fire sector is becoming familiar with and trusting the system. This is seen to be part of the much-needed culture change identified by Dame Judith Hackitt, and supported by the DLUHC investment to strengthen and extend the scope of CROSS.
The fire expert panel at CROSS has recently been expanded, to give the spread of knowledge and expertise required to ensure that every bit of potential learning is extracted from reports submitted. To demonstrate the outputs produced by CROSS, this article includes extracts from recently published reports that provide information about safety critical issues.
As part of the Fire Protection Association's continuing commitment to increase fire safety awareness across the built environment, a number of informative feature articles are available to read on our website.?You can read the full article here.
