Multi-environment automotive QoS prediction using AI/ML

This webinar focuses on the evolution of wireless communications and the role of machine learning in ensuring proactive management of network resources to maintain quality-of-service (QoS) and enhance user experience. The speaker highlights the significance of ML-based capabilities in supporting new use cases like vehicle-to-everything (V2X) schemes, particularly in the context of vehicular communications. The Berlin V2X dataset, comprising detailed wireless measurements from diverse urban environments in Berlin, is introduced as a valuable resource. The dataset includes information on vehicle location, LTE physical layer, resource management, and QoS. The webinar suggests utilizing the Berlin V2X dataset to implement QoS prediction and advocates for the application of transfer learning and domain adaptation techniques to generalize trained algorithms across different operators, vehicles, or urban areas.

Physics-informed machine learning to push the ocean frontier in climate

This webinar focuses on the global ocean's crucial role in regulating heat, carbon, biological productivity, and sea level. Despite its significance, questions persist regarding the driving forces behind ocean circulation, impeding our understanding of rapid changes. Machine learning is employed to generate hypotheses and enhance theoretical understanding of circulation dynamics, particularly in the challenging and extreme environment surrounding Antarctica.

Due to limited observations in this inaccessible region, a new physics-informed methodology called Tracking global Heating with Ocean Regimes (THOR) is developed. THOR combines geophysical fluid dynamics with transparent neural networks, incorporating explainable AI and Bayesian confidence scores. By leveraging available data, THOR fills observational gaps and offers a monitoring framework to assess climate change sensitivity. The methodology unveils discrepancies in model physics, contributing to divergent projections and highlighting the need for further discoveries and observational strategies.

Speaker: Maike Sonnewald from 美国加州大学戴维斯分校 .

AI for Industry in Africa: unleashing potential for development

This webinar explores the impact of AI in manufacturing, with a particular focus on developing regions like Least Developed Countries in Africa.?Recognizing the rapid advancements in AI and digital transformation, which can potentially disadvantage these regions due to their limited innovation capabilities and scarcity of skilled workforce, the importance of regional perspectives takes center stage. By crafting systems that cater to local needs and proactively addressing infrastructure deficits and skills gaps, the aim is to foster inclusive innovation ecosystems and establish trust in institutions, thereby facilitating successful implementation. With a primary objective of amplifying the voices of developing countries, the webinar provides a platform for sharing their perspectives and presenting actionable recommendations to tackle the challenges associated with AI adoption. Moreover, it offers valuable insights into the Global Digital Compact, placing specific emphasis on its implications for the industry. Ultimately, the overarching goal is to bridge the technological divide and ensure that developing regions can keep pace with fast-paced technological development.
