Replacing Concrete with Flexamat
The City of Greeley, CO wanted a permeable alternative to the rigid, 6” reinforced concrete originally designed on the Clarkson Channel Project. Hanes Geo Components suggested replacing the concrete invert with Flexamat?, giving the City a flexible, permeable solution that would allow for native habitat restoration and better withstand freeze/thaw conditions common in the Front Range of Colorado. In addition to the environmental benefits, Flexamat? saved the city a considerable amount of money and construction time compared to concrete.
“Using Flexamat? has saved us so much construction time and money over lining the bottom with concrete. We are very happy with the look and performance.”
