Repetition Brings Reward

As a life coach, I have seen many people (including myself!) struggle to achieve their goals due to a lack of consistency and follow-through. Often, we become so focused on the end result that we forget the value of the journey. One of the most important lessons I have learned is that repetition brings rewards.

Repetition is the act of doing something over and over again, consistently, until it becomes a habit. Habits are crucial in achieving success because they become second nature, allowing us to perform tasks effortlessly, without the need for constant motivation.

In order to form a habit, we must engage in consistent repetition. It’s like training for a marathon – the more you practice running, the easier it becomes to run further and faster. The same goes for any goal we set for ourselves. Whether it’s practicing a new skill, working towards a promotion, or getting in shape, repetition is the key to achieving our desired outcome.

But repetition can be difficult. It can be tempting to give up when we don’t see immediate results. However, it’s important to remember that progress is not always linear. Some days we will make great strides, while other days may feel like setbacks. It’s in these moments that we need to remind ourselves that repetition is a process, not a quick fix.

By consistently repeating a desired behavior or action, we are creating new neural pathways in our brains. This means that, over time, the behavior becomes automatic and effortless. This is why athletes, musicians, and artists spend hours practicing their craft. They understand that it’s through repetition that they develop the skills necessary to achieve their goals.

In addition to creating habits, repetition also helps us to gain confidence and self-efficacy. When we consistently perform a task or behavior, we begin to feel more capable and confident in our abilities. This helps us to overcome obstacles and challenges that may arise along the way.

Ultimately, repetition brings rewards. The key is to remain patient, consistent, and to focus on the journey. Remember that progress takes time, and the small actions we take every day add up to big results over time. So, whether you’re working towards a personal or professional goal, embrace the power of repetition and watch as you reap the rewards.

Very true Lynne, I feel that sometimes in today's app, social media environment we expect instant results, repetition also adds discipline and builds skill amongst many other attributes.
