For the first time ever, I baked bread. I felt motivated to do it, especially because we had all the ingredients at home. I had no experience whatsoever with baking, I even had to watch videos on YouTube on how to knead the dough. And guess what? It was good! The shape? Perfect! My husband even said, “We’re never buying bread again.” That should give you everything you need to stop doubting me and come invest in my bakery.
Just kidding!
If you have ever baked bread, you’ll know it’s a process that demands precision, repetition, and patience. From mixing the dough, kneading it, letting it rise, and finally baking it to perfection, each step matters. Skip one or rush through it, and the result will be far from satisfying, glad this wasn’t my tale to tell.
Now the thing is,
Life works much the same way. The results we truly desire, whether in our careers, relationships, health, or personal growth, don’t come from a single grand action. They are the product of consistent, repeated effort over time. Repetition thrives on structure. It requires a schedule.

When it comes to careers, for instance, achieving the job you want doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a process of clarity, research, and consistent action. First, you need to define your goals, what sector you want to work in, the roles that excite you, and the skills or experience required to thrive in them. Then comes the repetition: scouring job boards, tailoring applications, reaching out to professionals, and networking persistently.
You also need to establish a structured approach for these efforts, as consistency is key. Setting aside dedicated time to review vacancies, connect with recruiters, and actively use platforms like LinkedIn can make all the difference. Prioritize attending events, engaging with alumni networks, and exploring international opportunities that align with your career goals. While these actions may seem small individually, over time, they compound significantly, bringing you closer to the bigger picture of success.
Every task, habit, and routine you commit to is like kneading that dough. It’s rarely glamorous, and often it feels like nothing is changing. But over time, those small, consistent actions compound into incredible results.
Success is built on trusting the process and consistently showing up for the work each day. By combining a structured approach with steady repetition, you craft the "recipe" for achieving the career outcomes you truly desire.
I recognize that today’s job market is highly competitive, but within this challenge lies a wealth of opportunities for growth. By strategically leveraging a variety of approaches, you can expand your access to opportunities and greatly improve your chances of success.
