Who supports your Repair Trainers?

Here at CellBotics we understand how it is to be a Trainer. We do this day in and day out, and we love it, but training has its challenges. You know this if you are a full-time Repair Trainer. A lot falls on your shoulders and most of the time you are the one who is sought out for help, not the other way around.

You need to be responsible for onboarding new hires, keeping up with damaged devices from the floor, new tools, new supplies, and new devices, all while maintaining your normal tasks, PLUS you need to self-educate! Wow, I could go on and on. If your company has a trainer, this is just a small piece of what they must do, and they need support.

Issues we commonly see trainers have:

  • Their program lacks new processes because they don't have time to do research
  • They have issues with certain learners because they themselves have not been given the tools to resolve issues with students. We all clash with people at times for no apparent reason however, as a trainer, you MUST know how to defuse and recognize the issue.
  • They have no contact with the floor or it is a jaded relationship, through our program, we will teach them how to get more involved with the floor so their training relays more to the trainee and floor managers.
  • They get inundated with slide creation, we actually have slides ready to go for new processes and devices as they drop!
  • They feel the need to act as if they know it all. No one knows it all, and a good trainer knows how to say, I'm not sure but let me research that.
  • They boast certifications when confronted about their training content as if new processes don't exist. You can produce certifications but never in a defensive way, as new processes and tools always arise.
  • A program struggles to grow in device types or the trainer is stating things cant be done when people on the floor are saying they can.
  • When the trainer introduces something new, it's shot down. We will help the trainer learn how to bring justification prior to implementation. We will also teach the trainers how to stand firm in their knowledge and hold people to what they have trained them to do.
  • Retraining is only annual. This is a sign that the company doesn't keep up with new tools and processes and/or doesn't have a KPI system to hold techs responsible. Trainers should be able to see the need for retraining throughout the life of the techs position.

Nicole Russell, You couldn't do any better. This is a MUST platform for all the repair shops. The blueprint on how to run a successful cellphone repair shop and keep your employees updated on the latest and greatest trick on how to fix electronics. I can't speak to the content as we're not in that industry, but I love the way it's organized. Simple and to the point - e.g. here are the issues and here is how CellBotics solves these challenges.
