Each month, we recognise Academic Reps from each Faculty at the University of Manchester for their impressive contributions to making positive changes in this volunteering position. We received 50 nominations from across the university from reps, students and staff and we would like to share this month’s winners!?
Congratulations to Isha Shetty in the Faculty of Humanities! We want to give you a shout-out for actively engaging with your peers to gather feedback and your efforts to address students' concerns. You successfully organised an academic writing workshop for international students, liaised with relevant university staff to clarify travel arrangements during the Easter break to alleviate confusion for many students, and attended the UK Business School Representative Conference.?
Congratulations to Aryaman Bajaj in the Faculty of Science and Engineering! We want to give you a shout-out for addressing exam-related anxieties by clarifying stationary usage, initiating surveys to address student concerns, ensuring transparency and proactively working with lecturers to propose practical solutions. Your collaborative approach with fellow reps ensures diverse representation.?
Congratulations to Ratendra Chauhan in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health! We want to give you a shout out for introducing new course units, addressing timetabling concerns, facilitating IT support, and promoting student well-being through initiatives like free breakfast and smoother visa check ins.??
We would also like to give a huge round of applause to Donglin Li, Tala Mussalam Awaineh, Benjamin Green and Usrat Nubah who were all deservedly shortlisted. They are experts in collecting feedback and working together with their peers and colleagues in order to enact change!??
