Renison Area 5 ventilation upgrade

Renison Area 5 ventilation upgrade

Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd’s?Renison Tin Mine is close to completing the first major upgrade of the mine’s ventilation system in over 30 years.

The Area 5 ventilation upgrade project includes the installation of twin 800kW fans, capable of drawing hot air from over 1200m underground.

The fans were transported underground in sections and assembled in a specially excavated chamber.

Once commissioned, the new No.9 ventilation system will draw air to the surface via a network of four newly excavated 5m diameter shafts, reducing the number of booster fans currently in use, improve ventilation system efficiency and working condition in Area 5. #bluestonemines #tin #mining #tasmania
