Renewable energy platform Enlight is based in Tel Aviv but chooses Marta Fritz in Oslo for its new PPA Origination Manager. Marta’s most recent slot has been in commercial partnership and development with GE Renewable Energy, where she’d previously handled PPA origination in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa.

Since his graduation in banking and finance in 2019 Tom Wright has worked in the Nyon area of Switzerland as an LNG broker for SCB Group and in Amsterdam as an originator for STX. New job, new location for Tom in mid-2024: he arrives in London to be Commercial Structurer for EnBW.

Philipp K?hler in Düsseldorf is onboarded at Our New Energy as Lead Corporate PPA Expert. Philipp was with Uniper Energy Sales for eight years, latterly being its functional head of green power development. He’d previously worked for 8 years in different positions at E.ON in Germany.

When Bianca Sarbu joined BKW in Bern, her role in portfolio management covered energy clients (power, gas, EUA, GoO). Almost eight years later Bianca is now Head of Business Unit - Trading & Origination, having completed two years heading commodities and renewables origination department. Previously at BKW she’s been an origination project leader for the Swiss gas market and for the company’s gas storage portfolio in central and western Europe.

Leo Figueira had been in Delaware, Florida and New York before Australian financial risk management assignments in Sydney with accountants KPMG and Hydro Tasmania in Hobart. Although London (InterGen) and Sydney (Infigen Energy) intervened, Leo was back in Hobart by 2022 to be senior director in structuring and commercial across the APAC region for Canadian Solar / Recurrent Energy.? This year he’s promoted by the group to Senior Director, Energy & Asset Management & Growth (APAC).

Hats off to Düsseldorf resident Annkathrin Rabe . Statkraft promotes Annkathrin from senior originator in green power to Head of German Downstream Origination. Until 2020 she was at Innogy SE, initially in market analysis and latterly managing origination and B2B sales for PPA contracts.

Next we head to Wiesbaden as Stephan Schnorr arrives to be PPA Structuring Manager for Abo Wind, shortly before the enterprise’s rebrand as Abo Energy to reflect a change in its legal status from stock corporation to partnership limited by shares. Stephan’s track record to date shows mainly portfolio management roles, at the likes of Dong Energy, Trianel and Bay Wa r.e. Clean Energy Sourcing - where he became an originator.

Engie’s team in the UK advances Joseph Maycock to PPA Operations Director after over 16 years with the company. The positions he’s filled over that time have ranged from negotiator and accounts manager to taking the lead on electricity demand forecasting, retail analysis, pricing and energy costing.

Creating solutions to match renewable power production with offtakers - that’s the focus of the new job for Mathilde Lykke Saaby at Danske Commodities. She’s been recruited as Lead Originator, after her previous experience within trading and revenue in ?rsted heading a team that created revenue strategies for assets and carried out market development.

Vattenfall hires Johannes Groos from a position in project management at Abo Wind. Johannes is named Renewables Originator, 10 years after he was a junior originator with the energy and infrastructure business unit of Hamburg Commercial Bank. Between 2014 and 2017 he had also worked at Commerzbank in Hamburg on financing of renewable energy projects.

Another Hamburg switch to note sees Kay Paulsen cross town to become Asset Manager at renewables investment group CEE, especially covering wind and solar projects. This echoes his previous VP slot with Hamburg-based Aquila Capital that supported wind assets (in Germany, Finland, Norway, Sweden and UK) and solar (Germany and France). Kay had worked on financial modelling of projects in renewable energy while in early training with commercial bank Nord/LB in London.
