Renewables Surpass Coal

Statista just published some interesting data provided by the U.S. Energy Information Administration showing that renewables passed coal as a source of fuel for electricity generation for the first time in 2022.?

While renewables now supply 20% of the fuel for electricity generation, they only represent about 12% of total energy consumption with petroleum supplying 36% and natural gas 32%.
