Renewable World
Chris Girdlestone
Managing Director - Offshore Energy. Working hard to create a sustainable future.
Renewable Energy is good. It’s hard to argue with that statement and there will be better to come as the industry looks at ways to store energy and to use materials that can be reused/recycled as part of a circular economy. As more Renewable projects are commissioned, the less reliance we have on traditional carbon based energy sources. Our increasing use of Green Energy is a positive step towards our Net Zero future, the benefits of Renewables can also be lifechanging when it reaches people around the world who do not have access to a reliable energy source.
We, as a company want to ensure that the benefits of the work we are involved with and the ‘Green Revolution’ reach far and wide, which is why we are delighted to announce we are going to be supporting and welcoming Renewable World as charitable partner to our business. Hydro Energy Group and Renewable World believes “access to affordable and reliable energy is critical to providing everything a community needs to thrive: from healthcare to water, to education, to jobs. And yet, more than 840 million people worldwide do not have access to clean, safe energy sources”.* (*https://renewable-world.org/about-us/)
Since 2008, Renewable World has reached 40,000 people with Renewable Energy technologies and services. To learn more about some of the work they do and of course to donate to this worthwhile cause click on the following link https://renewable-world.org/our-impact/
Our NET ZERO Pledge
The energy transition is essential as we look towards a Net-Zero future as soon as possible. Individuals, Companies and Corporations are taking action by buying up Power Purchase Agreements or even shares in projects in order to ensure Green Energy for their operations and I have been using a green only electricity supplier for several years. At every stage in the supplier / user cycle we need to ensure we are taking steps to minimise our carbon footprint and reach our NET ZERO future as quickly as possible.
This is why, we as a company pledge to be entirely Net-Zero from 2021. We are working with our charity partner Renewable World to ensure that our business operations and those under contract with us will not continue to contribute to increasing Carbon Emissions. We want to ensure as a business partner, supplier and company, we are Net-Zero. With our aspirations for a Net-Zero future and our truly global reach and understanding, we want to make sure the Green Revolution benefits everybody
