Now this gave me so much #hope. Lot of these emotions are also probably driven by most recent experiences amidst COVID19 situation across the globe. There was a huge gathering, almost some kind of celebration of “rising sun” and people witnessing it first hand.
Wondered me - what’s the big deal?
I was there for my daughter’s birthday with my family. I am sure everyone who was camping there few hrs before the sunrise on a cold early morning had some motivation to witness the majestic sun. (We had our masks all the time and this was probably the most closest we got to humans amidst COVID19 precautionary guidance).
Here are 3 of my top reflections -
1. NEEDS - Unanimous cheering, clapping, welcoming shout out to the sun reflected how as humans we were so similar - irrespective of common discriminations we have drawn ourselves based on color, caste, gender, backgrounds. We all predominantly enjoy companionship, appreciate Mother Nature and are strongly united as we celebrate our bonding with earth that belongs to all of us.
2. EQUALITY - people were spread all over the Cadillac mountain at different levels of elevations and wrapped up in their blankets, hugging their respective companions (people & furry friends alike). When the sun rose royally, it’s rays reached everyone simultaneously without any kind of discrimination. So who are we the visitors on this earth to ever create ownership structures claiming what does not really belong to us.
3. HOPE - Sun has been relentlessly rising from the same spot every day for billions of years and will continue to do so for the next billions of years to come. No matter what our loses have been driven by COVID (or without) - jobs, family, friends, assets - stay positive and this too shall end and there will new beginnings soon.
