Removing barriers to art

Recently we launched our partnership with Art for Guernsey through the Strong Room, unveiled with a stunning, original Renoir which hadn’t been seen by the public for over 20 years! It remained there to allow islanders to view it for free. This partnership reflects our commitment to cultural engagement, educational initiatives and excellence within our community.

Accessibility to world class pieces of art is something we feel strongly about, and so, supporting Art for Guernsey, with its Mill Street gallery open to everyone, was a natural choice for us.

Julius Baer has a long tradition of supporting the visual arts, dating back to the 1930s when the Baer family launched their private art collection. Experiencing art first-hand is invaluable, and we are thrilled to provide a space where people can enjoy incredible works of art in peace.

The Strong Room is more than just a secure space; it's a symbol of our dedication to the local community and cultural initiatives. It’s an honour to be associated with a project that celebrates Guernsey's artistic heritage and creates inclusive opportunities for islanders.

The unveiling of the Renoir painting was particularly thrilling – a real testament to the generosity of local collectors and supporters of Art for Guernsey. It’s a really exciting time for the art world locally and it’s wonderful that islanders and students now have the chance to view famous artworks they might not have been able to see otherwise.
