Remove the Tree Guard:

Often the Tree guards are installed to protect saplings from animals & other hazards. As the tree grows, after a stage when the tree has grown to sufficient height the relevance of Tree Guard vanishes. It is the time to remove the tree guard, based on individual cases. This is based on my experience as gardener and observer.

Similarly, as the child is born in a family it draws whole hearted attention and care from all family members. Usually the children are the centre of attraction, for the family and during social events. As the child grows, the prime attentions of the family I sort protect the child from hazards. Some sort of protection is build similar to the tree guard. The child start s learning right and wrong, to do or not to do it .

???????????As the child grows, more independence is given, like permitted to go to nearby park and play, visit family & friends. However there is the stage comes when the tree guard is to be removed. But in case of child it is not abrupt removal but in stages. Like a good gardener trimming of some branches may be resorted, which may be extremely painful exercise. It is better to check growth in wrong direction at early stage. The first signs when to start easing is when their shoe sizes become in close vicinity to that of parents. Now, is the time to ease the tree guard but removal is not resorted not recommended.

???????????This is a very critical stage in development when the physical growth has taken place but mental abilities, decision making still needs support from parents. The best they can is to know the child what exactly they like, do, activities and fiends circle. It is most delicate stage and at no stage they should get a message that they are being spied, but indirect influences need to be drawn. They need to be given freedom but with some bounds. It is good to give exposure to cash or fund management and also give some allowance or pocket money. With effective conversations, more in listening mode their aspirations and expectations should b gauged.

???????????Another important decision or course of action emerges that is career path, choice of profession. It is best to give them exposures thru visits to family and friends to different professionals & employment type. Opportunity based discussions in analysis of some cases, pros and cons, limitations, effect on life, life style. It is better not to impose decisions or prompt decisions.

???????????For parents they always remain children even after attaining adulthood. Now,??is the commencement of test period for parents when their maturity is continuously evaluated by children.??It is the time to observe more and speak less.?The issue is more compounded when children join the family Business. Until next generation it is still easier to manage as they have common mother. They have shared plate and many things in the life. The complexity increases many folds when the Business is entering into third generations, as the cousins are also involved. It is the second stage when the tree guard is to be eased or progressively removed.

???????????This has been happening for generations panned over the centuries. Though, we may think that present generation is different. The change is slow and steady. Of course the advent of computers in all walks of life, digital economy, network, Professional management & now AI is likely to set change at higher pace.?
