Ditched office life? Still dreaming about it? You’ll love Remotely Interested, my bi-monthly roundup of advice for anyone who thinks their 9-5 can be done a little differently.
Here’s the deal…there’s plenty of things about working remotely that stink. Networking takes added gusto. Separating personal and work time = uphill battle. And, horror of horrors, sometimes you run out of clean sweatpants (ha!).
Getting to the point: The toughest part is landing a virtual gig in the first place.
And ya, this is true of any job. But when you’re hunting for remote work, it’s just harder. The talent pool is bigger, your competition is GLOBAL, and the process feels as awkward as your first date in middle school. Still, the perks of working remotely totally outweigh the grind of getting set up. Swear it on my cat’s pajamas.
That’s why this round up focuses on the "How To" piece of it all:
- Clearly, you like LinkedIn. Follow these tips to score remote work with it.
- Read my Daily Muse post if your resume doesn’t say “I’m tech-savvy.”
- Video interview? This article is your BFF!
