A few weeks back, I got a call from somebody who was following my journey on social media & who is also an established entrepreneur in the food industry.
He said that he called to understand what I do as a Business Coach and if I can help him expand his food chain business all over India & abroad in the next two years?
The first question he asked me was Sheetal, tell me what your entrepreneurial journey has taught you & how it has shaped you into the person you are today? This question set the tone for the rest of my day & I thought of sharing my profound experience with you all.
So, it took me back to the day I started this journey all by myself.
Having no support, guidance, or instruction manual, I embarked on this adventure eight years ago. I was new to the city of dreams & also unaware of how I will be required to travel frequently to the town side to conduct meetings. I come from the small town of Nagpur, where it hardly took 10-15 minutes to reach anywhere, but Mumbai was strikingly different. In Mumbai, commuting via local trains seems like something everybody did there & so I tried experiencing it firsthand. I would not be lying if I said that it felt pretty uncomfortable. Gradually I learned to travel through various modes & google maps came in handy to reach remote locations for meetings.I was young & not taken seriously in the beginning. Many people saw me as somebody who could be an ineffective Trainer or a Coach & hence I faced many rejections, but I never shrank back because I had my eye on the prize. I knew where I intended to reach & I was sure that I would make it.
Meanwhile, I kept learning new & powerful techniques to conduct business meetings & deliver impactful presentations. I kept upgrading my knowledge & worked on my personal development side by side. I have been an unstoppable force & my growth over the years says it all. My family, friends, coworkers & even clients can vouch for it because they have seen it closely. With every project, I leveled up my skills & become more confident in the treasures I held within.
Every next level exposed me to an array of bigger & better clients & projects.
Penning down a few learnings from my entrepreneurial journey below:
1. Both business & personal development go hand in hand.
2. There are countless clients & opportunities for the services, products, or value & intention that you offer. One must always be on the lookout for them.
3. You will have to pay the price to achieve your goals & desires.
For example, if you want an International Project, you might have to give up on sleep or other leisure activities.
4. You attract & manifest anything through harnessing the power of your thoughts & by having 0% resistance towards it, come what may. It starts from inwards before it shows up externally.
5. You will always feel deprived of attention if you seek external validation or appreciation. But when you reflect within & believe in your soul's journey & your capabilities, you turn doubts & fears into curiosity, strategy & would see the desired results.
6. Confidence is just being yourself, showing up as you are & owning your voice.
7. Become aware of the different states of mind we should tap into to develop excellence in a particular area. For example, to facilitate a powerful & insightful session, I tap into my natural state of being in which I allow people to ask questions, and I let my unconscious mind guide them through.
While Coaching, I tap into my curious mind to ask thought-provoking & powerful questions.
In a sales meeting, I'm calm & become a good listener & come up with the appropriate examples to share as per their questions or needs.
When I immerse in dancing, I tap into my feminine or sensual state & start to flow like a goddess.
Well, I shared all this & more with him & I didn't shy away from saying that I am self-inspired. After looking back at what I made happen, I had so much to say & so I spared no detail.
He listened to me with the utmost patience & took a keen interest in my journey. In the end, he said: It was like a mini session for him.He later shared all the details about his organization, like the staff, location, and future goals & gave me a green signal to get started & put his project on a fast track.
As for me, I'm still lingering on this surreal but nostalgic experience & cherishing my journey so far.
So, how has your entrepreneurial journey been so far, and what are your major takeaways from it? Do share below.
