Reminders for Health Awareness
As CEO of Truveta, I continue to learn about public health and how various illnesses are recognized through special todays throughout the year. Today is the World Health Organization’s Suicide Prevention.?
This week #Reuters Long COVID's link to suicide: scientists warn of hidden crisis story explored the connection between the pandemic and suicide. I worry about the mental health of our kids especially as they navigate through the last few years.? It was a proud moment for Truveta we could contribute to this investigation. For the last few years, we’ve been working tirelessly on building our data and analytics to answer public health questions just like this.?
And also this week, I was deeply touched when our Truveta Comms Manager Sarah Climaco bravely shared her Faces of Fortitude story about the impact of suicide on her and her family. Sarah and I sit across from each other at our Truveta office a few days per week, and I feel like I know and appreciate this die-hard Seattle Storm fan so much more.?
A few weeks ago, I wrote some thoughts to our departing interns. I said: “Your ability to relax, love, and innovate will come after finding peace inside of your own head. Don’t compare yourself to others. Social media puts so much pressure on everyone to be like the shiny happy photos we see – ignore it. This is hard for all of us.”?
I hope you will join me today to hug your loved ones and give yourself some grace on this important health awareness day.
Terry?
