Remembrance Day 2023

Today is Remembrance Day, a time of reflection for those who have served in the Armed Forces and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Here at Zzoomm, many of our bright Zzoommers come from a military background, so we understand it will be a poignant day for those who served in the forces, to remember their comrades. We will remember them.

We want to take this opportunity to reflect and hear from our Zzoommers on this Remembrance Day.

Our Region Depot Manager for Thirsk, Stan Bowles joined the British Army in 1989. In his 23 years of service in the Royal Logistical Corps. Here are his thoughts.?

On Remembrance Day, we acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of those who served their country. We acknowledge our responsibility to work for the peace they fought hard to achieve. During times of war, individual acts of heroism occur frequently; only a few are ever recorded and receive official recognition.

My thoughts are always with those who served and lost and those displaced civilians who are caught up in Wars and conflicts.

Absent friends who gave the ultimate sacrifice, which I know of many in my time in the British Army. Also, friends and colleagues who have passed since leaving the Armed Forces.

Remembrance is an opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

Zzoomm is committed to ensuring that all employees who currently service in the Armed Forces, whether regular or reserve or those who have served in the past, should face no disadvantage compared to others.

Former and current forces workers are a core part of our team, and we look forward to welcoming many more members to the Zzoomm community.
