In remembrance...

In remembrance...

First and foremost, deep and heartfelt condolences to the family on their greatest loss! I am in no way linked to the great soul(departed) and I will pray for her best afterlife.

Suddenly, I have noticed that LinkedIn page is getting overwhelmed and flooded with this incident and blames on organizational culture, which is true to an extent. However, as professionals do we actually realize the current underlying ?

Work Stress, peer pressure, deadlines, favoritism, biasness, harassments, etc. Negativity have always been a part of the work culture in most organizational setup(if not all). But, being a professional are we projecting the right message to the huge list of spectators/user/connections of this platform and outside. The answer to is "No" in my perspective.

I will reiterate; the loss is "HUGE" "Un-COMPARABLE", we can't even imagine or feel 0.1% of what the family members are currently going through or how they are coping with the situation. But to that I would like to say that (Suicide/Self harm) doesn't deliver ultimate solution.

Over-burdened with work pressure?

  • Prioritize your work; not able to prioritize ask for help/support or delegate to someone within the team.
  • If that is still not possible, inform your manager that you are out of bandwidth. Manager doesn't respond, escalate to senior management.

  • No action by senior management; switch job. For sure the position will not be vacant lifetime. Organizations will find resources. Likewise, there are numerous organizations searching for talents, work on yourself and place yourself somewhere better. Choose wisely!
  • What ever you do, always keep things documented. That's a proof of your struggle and future steps.
  • Friendship doesn't work in a professional setup. Rarely, highly blessed individuals will have "real" friends in workplace.
  • If you are frustrated with work, share it with your partner, develop habit of writing dairy, isolate yourself to a vacation, go to a live musical event, talk shows, etc. Then bounce back with a fresh mind.
  • There are numerous ways you can keep yourself happy, motivated and running in this rat race. You are most welcome to explore every possible option to keep your mind and health safe and focused. But self harm/suicide is no way an option.
  • "Self Help is the best help". If you are determined to deal with issues and find a way out , you will always find and exit. Impossible is nothing , its I'm possible. Fight for yourself to make a better place for yourself. Seek guidance from experts.
  • Stop blaming others for your failure to achieve, as you are not in his/her shoes to understand his/her situation.
  • Our parents have faced hardship to give us a beautiful life. Please "STOP" choosing the easiest path of "Self Harm or Suicide". Life is a precious gift and your actions will percolate its effects to the next in line.

As a human being, think of the future life of the family members (father, mother, brother, sister, kid/kids). Once you are gone, you are just a lifeless picture and all the suffering will be burdened on your loved ones. So think of them before your further course of action.

As professionals, we all should take this as a learning and refrain ourselves from involving in such an act of escapism and guide others (when found) suffering from such anomalies. Fight because "You" deserve nothing less than "Right". Drive others towards right path.

Please forgive me, if my words are harsh for you or my perspective does not align with yours's .

RIP Sister. Praying for quick recovery of the family.

I completely agree to the point that we are not indispensable to work or company but we are indispensable to ourselves and family. This is a big learning to all of us, while we love our job, but we need to love ourselves and our families more. We should start saying NO to things which can cost our life.
