Remembering Vancouver 2010
10 years ago, I travelled to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics. I blogged about the experience for my friends and family.
With the anniversary of that trip on my mind, I thought I'd share with you my final blog post from Vancouver, along with a special surprise (via CTV) at the end. Thanks for reading!

It is with a tear in my eye, a lump in my throat, and a heart bursting with Canadian pride that I write my last post from Vancouver.
We are driving out of Vancouver having attended the two-man bobsled competition today. My Olympic experience has come to an end but my memories will last forever. Even the two-hour ride back from Whistler today was a great experience, laughing and talking with a group of fans from Denmark at the bus stop, and the bus driver from Montreal (who was a Leaf fan) who talked our ear off.
From day one when we arrived to the last day here, we have been treated so wonderfully by the good people of Vancouver.
We meet and talked with people from all over the world, like Boris from Siberia, and the parents of a player from the Swedish Women's hockey team. Today in line we met and chatted with Debbie Thomas, who won a bronze medal in Calgary for the USA in figure skating.
Something magical happened in Vancouver for me over these last 10 days, and the beauty of the human spirit was bursting at the seams.
The legacy of these games for me will be the amazing team of volunteers that assisted us, laughed with us, cheered with us, and made every day here a better one!
I feel truly blessed for this amazing opportunity and feel enriched as a person to have been lucky enough to have been here to be part of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Just for a recap here what we did:
Three Canadian Women's hockey games (18-0 over Slovakia, 10-1 over the Swiss, and 13-1 over Sweden); two Canadian Men's hockey games (8-0 over Norway and a 4-3 shootout thriller over the Swiss); Canadian Men's curling (10-3 over Denmark), short track speed skating, men's two man bobsled, and the best off all Canada's first ever gold medal on home soil, Alexandre Bilodeau in the Moguals!!!
So that's it from here!
