Remembering the Innocent Unborn

?

This week marks a very somber and disheartening anniversary.?49 years ago, on January 22nd, the Supreme Court of the United States made?the decision allowing for abortion on demand.?This ruling was immoral and has?led to the murder of 62 million innocent babies since abortion was legalized in 1973.?

As a Catholic, doctor, father and grandfather I take God’s creation of life seriously.??

This week,?The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List?revealed the latest?Susan B. Anthony List National Pro-life Scorecard,?a tool for holding members of Congress accountable for their legislative records on abortion and highlighting leadership in the fight to protect unborn children and their mothers.?I am?proud to once again receive an A+ rating.??I do not believe in abortion.?Under any circumstance.

Thankfully, the Supreme Court is preparing to hear a monumental case that could undue Roe v Wade and help end the killing babies still in the wombs of their moms. Victory in this case would save thousands of babies and begin to correct the horrific error that occurred nearly 50 years ago that has resulted in the disgusting murder of millions of precious babies.?

On this sad anniversary, we must honor the memories of every baby aborted and reaffirm our determination to fight to save countless others still in danger.

America Laments Biden’s Disastrous First Year

?

This week marked another somber anniversary:?Joe Biden has been in the White House for exactly one year.

And what a mess he has created.

Repeated lies and broken campaign promises. COVID continues to take its toll with no federal plan to end the pandemic. Empty shelves at grocery stores. Four, five and even six bucks for a gallon of gas. Wages going in the wrong direction. Crimes surging across the country. Critical Race Theory fomenting hatred in our kids’ classrooms. Parents labelled as domestic terrorists. Hundreds of Americans remained abandoned in Afghanistan.?Russia ready to invade our ally, the Ukraine, green-lighted by Biden. Millions and millions of illegal aliens crossing our southern border, many right here in Arizona. 7% out of control inflation. The highest since 1982.?Bidenflation is destroying everything you earned.?

On every level and one every issue, Joe Biden has run our country into a ditch.

Non-Citizens Should NOT be Allowed to Vote

?

One of the most important rights for American citizens is the right to vote.?Unfortunately, New York City recently announced it will allow nearly one million non-citizens to vote in local elections. Opening the voting booth to non-U.S. citizens is a terrible policy.?

In response, this week I cosponsored the Stop Foreign Citizens Voting in U.S. Elections Act to prohibit federal funds to state and local governments that allow non-citizens to vote in any federal, state, or local election.?Voting is an American principle and right that should be protected?and ensuring the integrity of elections is incredibly important.

Biden Orders COVID Treatments to be Based on Race Rather than Science

?

Monoclonal antibodies have proven to be very effective in treating COVID-19.?Patients receiving the monoclonal antibodies have shown to have?milder symptoms and may decrease the likelihood of needing to stay in the hospital.?Sadly, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued guidance directing health care providers to explicitly consider race and ethnicity?in determining what treatments to give to patients.?Pharmacists are asking physicians to disclose the race of their patients before administering treatment.

No one should be denied life-saving medical treatment because of their race.?COVID does not care about the Democrats’ latest politicized obsession with race, and the Constitution does not permit the FDA to implement it in policy, especially when Americans’ lives are at-risk by denying them medical treatments. No scientific data whatsoever suggests special susceptibility to severe COVID illness because of race.?

?

This week, I joined 30 Republican colleagues in sending a letter to the FDA Acting Commissioner demanding that the agency corrects this racist guidance before it becomes a permanent stain on the history of the agency tasked with promoting the health of the American people.

Gosar Keeps Pressure on Congress to Not Fund Vaccine Mandates

?

I highlighted last week that the Supreme Court blocked?the Biden administration from enforcing?its unconstitutional vaccine mandate for large private business.?Unfortunately, the Court allowed a requirement that all health care workers at hospitals receiving Medicare and Medicaid funding be vaccinated.??

Thankfully, this week, a?federal court in Texas has issued an injunction against the vaccine mandate for the federal healthcare workforce, pausing implementation of the requirement that could force more than 2 million healthcare workers to get the jab or be fired.?While this injunction is welcome news, we can be sure that the Biden administration will continue to push for new ways to impose the vaccine mandate on employees.?

In response, I joined a joint resolution in Congress to terminate this rule, but I remain concerned that Democrats in Congress will include money for vaccine mandates in the pending government funding bills. This week, my Freedom Caucus colleagues, and I sent a letter to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell urging them not support any funding bills that include money for vaccine mandates.??

Tweet of the Week

?

Paul Gosar

@DrPaulGosar:?Absolutely 100% no. We have no dog in the Ukraine fight. Not one American soldier should die there. Not one American bullet should be fired there. We just lost Afghanistan to sandal wearing goat herders. I assure you Russian military is no joke either.

In response to a Tweet from?

Cernovich

@Cernovich: No.

Cernovich's curt "No" was in response to?this article.

Other Highlights From This Week

?

The National Personnel Record Center (NPRC)?has since March 2020 failed to maintain appropriate staffing levels which has greatly slowed down their ability to get veterans the records needed for benefits. I have routinely pushed the NPRC to reopen at full staffing levels and to modernize their system. However, they recently announced that they would again scale back their staffing levels.?This is completely inappropriate. Once again, I pressed NPRC leadership to reopen and present their plans for reopening to Congress so we can inform our constituents.??
