"Remembering the birth of Hip Hop"
"I can remember when hip hop was cool; I can remember when hip hop was joyful; I can remember when hip hop was excitement; I can remember when hip hop was about art; I can remember when hip hop was about dancing; I can remember when hip hop was expression; I can remember when hip hop was mixing & scratching; I can remember hip hop was creative; I can remember when hip hop was a culture; I can remember when hip hop was positive; I can remeber when hip hop was a movement; I can remeber when hip hop was non-voilent; I can remember when hip hop was graffiti; I can remember when hip hop was respectful; I can remember when hip hop was inspiring; I can remember when hip hop was uplifting to my soul; I can remember when hip hop was attractive; I can remember when hip hop was unified; I can remember when hip hop was a brotherhood and last but not least I can remember when hip hop was in it's physical form; being fully alive!" My brothers & sisters, I'm not here to preach or teach but just here to remind us about the birth of Hip Hop in it's natural form."
I hope that our higher power, our creator; bless our Hip Hop Nation away from material power so it can transition back into it's physical form. It hurts me to see the news & see talented rap artists making headlines as victims of chaos. My Daughter looked me in the eyes & said, "Daddy are you going to get hurt for being a rapper?" How can I respond to her when she see what goes on in the rap community; How? I will continue to hope & pray for unification in the hip hop community as well as brotherhood. We got to work together to protect hip hop from becoming instinct. May God bless us all & may Hip Hop live forever....
