Remember when I started a newsletter?

If you're reading this, you're probably wondering..."What is this? Who are you again?"
And I don't blame you. It's been nearly 2 years since my last LinkedIn newsletter where I was tackling the world of being a digital nomad and working in marketing and technology. I had recently purchased a van that I was going to hit the road in and make my mark on the road by traveling across the country with my three crazy pups.
Well...my life has changed significantly.
I'll spare you all the gory details, but after purchasing the van from a third party, nearly a month later it all fell apart. Literally. So my van has been in the shop for over 2 years now, but we are hopefully getting closer to having it see the light of day in the next month or two.
So what have I been up to since then?
Two years later...
A lot has changed since the last time you've seen an update from me. Because the van was going to be both my car and my home, I needed a new plan. I ended up buying a new-to-me Jeep and planted some roots here in Arizona shortly after the van died on me. It wasn't what I wanted at the time, but I sure as heck grew a lot over the last year and a half as I learned how to be an indoor animal again.
For anyone who has lived on the road for a while, learning how to be inside all of the time can be difficult. I was used to living outside for most of the previous two years before I bought a new van and I was having a hard time sitting still in one place with running water and A/C.
I know, I know. Sounds silly and very first world, right?
But in the spirit of being genuine, it's important to know that my time spent on the road changed me and #FeralErin was real and rearing its ugly head for a while.
BUT...
Nearly 2 years later, with roots deep in the desert soil, I've changed for the better in many ways. One, I shower far more frequently (you're welcome everyone in smelling distance!) and two, I managed to find and regrow my community of friends again. I also found a great partner who has expanded my worldview.
I've found new hobbies, made new friends, and started to get back out into the world after years of it just being me working from a makeshift desk on the road. I am officially a introverted extrovert now and I know that's not something I would have said two years ago.
What hasn't changed though is that I'm still working from home with three furry coworkers. I still do work similar to what I was doing two years ago, focusing on all digital efforts from marketing to technology development. You can also still find us outside most of the time when I'm not working because you can take the girl out of the outdoors, but you can't take the outdoors out of the girl (or her furry coworkers).

So that's all of it in a nutshell. Funny how life can change in a matter of months!
What's next, you ask?
I'm glad you asked. ??
Whether you're interested in my personal anecdotes about life and dogs or just want to hear what I'm uncovering in my work universe, this newsletter is coming back to life.
I've felt called in many ways to pick writing back up lately and I think this is a great place for me to write about all of the things on my mind that might also be on yours.
For starters, you'll notice already that the title and photos associated with this newsletter have changed because I'll no longer be on the road full time, but the content will stay mostly the same.
I'll be sharing updates about all the things below:
And since you've been here reading a while, I won't keep you much longer.
I will do my best to post a newsletter weekly here because I know we all need one more thing to read each week, right? ??
But in all seriousness, I want to hold myself accountable for writing meaningful newsletters that 1) inspire myself and others like you to do something with this one precious life with the time we have together and/or 2) make you laugh or smile once a week.
Pretty simple, I think.
Have something you want to nerd out about (tech, marketing, dogs, funny memes)? Just give me a shout here on LinkedIn in a message and we can chat. Maybe you'll make it in a newsletter ??
