Remember to take care of yourself

Remember to take care of yourself

We can be so busy doing things for other people during the holiday season that we forget about the most important person, yourself.

Self care is such an important part of life, but most of us don’t do it.

I used to put everyone’s needs above my own.

I let my mental, physical, and emotional health come last, because I felt everyone was more important than me.? I told myself I didn’t need anything and I was strong enough to handle it.

It’s really easy to get wrapped up in life and all the things we have to do on a daily basis, especially during the holiday season.

How many times have you just stopped and bought yourself a little present and said good job to you?

I always think about when Snoop Dog received his star on the Walk of Fame and what he said,

“I want to thank me for believing in me, I want to thank me for doing all this hard work. I wanna thank me for having no days off. I wanna thank me for never quitting. I wanna thank me for always being a giver and trying to give more than I receive. I wanna thank me for trying to do more right than wrong. I wanna thank me for being me at all times.

At the end of the day, all you have is you.

YOU is the only one you have to be with 100% of the time.

YOU is the only one you can’t get away from or take a break from.

YOU is always with you, so you better have a good relationship with them.

Beyond that, if you’re not good, no one’s good.

If you don’t fill you’re tank, you don’t have anything to give anyone else.

The truth is if you don’t take care of yourself, you will eventually crash and burn, it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when.

So BUY yourself that present for you instead of someone else.

TAKE yourself on a date doing something you enjoy.

Take that BREAK.

SLEEP in just a little.

TALK kindly to yourself.

GIVE yourself grace.

FORGIVE yourself.

Cut yourself some SLACK.

TELL yourself you’re doing a good job.

You’re WORTH the work.

You’re GOOD enough.

You are LOVED.

You are CARED about.

LOVE you.

Don’t ever give up on you, I know the holidays can be hard for many, but even more of a reason to do something kind for yourself.

So on this time off, take some time to plan out self care days.? Recharge for the New Year, and be ready to become the best version of yourself!
