Remember The Sabbath
Yvonne C. Freeman
I'm a Bible Christian. An author, poet and song writer posting poetry from my books inspired by the written word of God
"Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the Lord in all your dwellings." - Leviticus 23:3
Blessed are they that keep the Sabbath from polluting it by doing their pleasures this day. The Sabbath is not just for Israelites black, brown and people of various shades of gold. Saturday the 7th day is for all of God's children no matter their nation, language or color. Whosoever love the Lord and obey all of his laws and statutes shall be adopted into the God family. "If ye love me, keep my commandments." - John 14:15
To know him is to love him. To love him is to obey him. You must first read your bible to learn all about him. Did you know Jesus, Moses and the prophets taught and read the word of God from the bible on the sabbath? Read what thus said the Lord as it is written. God's word need no interpretation.
"Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught." - John 7:14 "For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day." - Acts 15:21 "And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures," - Acts 17:2
The Sabbath is a day of rest from the chaos and stress of this world. It's a time to renew your mind. Be still and breathe knowing God is near. Prayer will supply the peace you need. God will provide the answers you seek. Did you know even the 7th year is a sabbath of rest for the land? That's how sacred and holy the sabbath is to the Lord. What does the sabbath mean to you?
"Six years thou shalt sow thy field, and six years thou shalt prune thy vineyard, and gather in the fruit thereof; But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the Lord: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard." - Leviticus: 25:3-4
