Remember Memorial Day and - June 2018 Clarion is coming (by ákos Kovach)

Many years ago when Nat King Cole sang about the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer he was not singing about the public sector! This is crunch time for locking in budgets for the coming year, reviewing accomplishments and yes, cataloging missteps and failures so they are not repeated.

As we enter these next few months of heat, monsoons and vacations we are mindful of youth sporting events, family gatherings and increased security for the good of everyone - as well as finding new funding sources and becoming more resilient.

For example, what is a Community Development Entity? Do we have one in Southeastern Arizona? How many of you use GrantFinder software to track down access to funds? These and many additional subjects will be fleshed out in the next issue of the Clarion – to be published Friday June 1.

And finally we use the one word reminder about the upcoming Memorial Day Holiday: “Remember”. Remember the sacrifice; remember what we have gained as a result of that sacrifice. Memorial Day 2018 falls on Monday May 28 – “Remember”.
